Abstract:
In 2011, an online track was launched within a long-established MATESOL program in Vermont. Most of the faculty had little experience with online course delivery. Furthermore, the program setting necessitated a hybrid format to accommodate both campus-based and distant students in the same course. Three faculty members will explain the evolution of this venture over the last two years, demonstrating the stages of the development process from initial training to the applications used in the courses today. Finally, they will describe how student learning, both synchronous and asynchronous, has benefited from this development in technology-enhanced instruction.
