COMPOUND SENTENCES
- A compound sentence contains two independent clauses joined by a coordinator.
- Each clause has a subject and a verb.
- The coordinators are: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
Example
I tried to speak Spanish, and my friend tried to speak Spanish.
ACTIVITY
Directions:
- Make sure you are in EDIT mode.
- Change the word form. Click on "word form" for thesaurus.
- Create a compound sentence. Click for explanation.
- Color code the subjects in yellow, verbs in green, and thecoordinators and commas that precede them in red.
